At the 2024 Cannes Yachting Festival,Azimutlaunched in conjunction with Volvo Penta the world’s first yacht equipped with Volvo Penta IPS hybrid propulsion system – Seadeck 7 is officially unveiled!

Powerful performance and long battery life of 12 hours

The Seadeck 7 yacht pioneered the organic combination of diesel engines, motors, batteries and Penta IPS propulsion system. Relying on 2 x D13 engines and a 160kW motor, the yacht is guaranteed to have strong power, excellent controllability and efficiency.

Thanks to the superior performance of Penta’s IPS propulsion system, Seadeck 7 can achieve hybrid sailing without the need for a generator. In pure electric mode, cruising speed is up to 11 knots and up to 12 hours at berth with zero emissions, significantly improving the comfort and sustainability of the yacht.

Seamless connection creates a new driving experience

The Penta IPS hybrid power system equipped with Seadeck 7 organically combines the endurance and speed advantages of traditional engines with the smoothness and low noise advantages of new energy, enhancing driving comfort and providing smooth cruising, acceleration and excellent performance. dynamic response experience.

At the same time, the Penta IPS hybrid power system integrates all components from the control panel to the propeller, achieving seamless connection between yacht operation and power switching, improving the yacht’s performance, efficiency and ease of operation, and enabling quiet low-speed cruising and nighttime silence.

Go Green and environmentally friendly, close contact with nature

Thanks to the yacht’s extensive use of carbon fiber (up to 40%) and its superior hull design, it is much lighter than a yacht of the same length equipped with a traditional inboard drive system. Seadeck 7 can reduce CO2 emissions by more than 40% in one year. In pure electric mode, yachts can dock and leave port more conveniently, and yachts can enter zero-emission areas, allowing people to get close to nature.

Compact structure redefines yacht design

As Azimut’s first hybrid yacht, Seadeck 7 significantly improves comfort and expands the yacht’s use space through the use of weight-saving technology, a carbon fiber hull, redesigned deck and superstructure, and an IPS hybrid power system.

In addition, the Penta IPS hybrid system integrates the Volvo Penta Electronic Vessel Control System (EVC) and innovative drive modes, which can control the parking, steering and dynamic positioning system (DPS) in both pure electric mode and hybrid mode.

The glass cockpit system has an interface that displays drive mode and battery status. The EVC system can perform real-time monitoring and data sharing of the engine, and can enjoy high-quality service support provided by Volvo Penta’s global service network.

Join forces to create excellence

In 2024, Volvo Penta and Azimut will continue to optimize the hybrid power system mounted on Seadeck 7 to improve the system’s reliability and excellent performance so that it can be subsequently installed in all Azimut Seadeck series to provide customers with industry-leading hybrid power solutions.

From September 10 to 15, 2024, Seadeck 7 completed its “debut” at the Cannes Yachting Festival and has begun accepting reservations, with deliveries expected to begin in 2026.
